What is Physiotherapy (PT)

PT is a profession concerned with restoring health, preventing disability, and evaluating and rehabilitating people with pain, illness, or injury. In contrast to drug, radiological or surgical measures, treatment in PT is carried out conservatively with forms of therapy such as: manual therapy, physiotherapy, massage, lymphatic drainage, training therapy and physical applications (heat, cold, electrotherapy and sling table). The aim of the therapies is to create optimal movement and pain relief in a first step. At the same time, activities of professional and daily life such as walking, lifting and carrying or dressing independently etc. are practiced and improved.

As a natural healing process, physiotherapy is an alternative or useful supplement to medical and surgical treatment of the disease.
